Azelaic acid occurs naturally in wheat, barley and rye; in cosmetics it is used in a synthesised, stable form. Here it sits at 10%, and that is very nearly the whole formula — five ingredients in total, no fragrance. The short list is deliberate: on skin prone to blemishes and uneven tone, a long ingredient deck tends to get in the way rather than help. On oily and combination skin the product has a mattifying effect, so the greasy sheen that builds through the day is less obvious. At the same time the acid works on tone: marks left behind by breakouts look more even and the complexion reads brighter. The manufacturer files it under anti-blemish and brightening, and it suits all skin types, not only oily ones. Apply to cleansed facial skin, then your usual moisturiser on top.
