Description

A plant-based alternative to retinol: nano-encapsulated bakuchiol with ginseng and Salvia miltiorrhiza extracts, for renewal, firmness and radiance with a gentler feel than retinol.

A serum for anyone who doesn't get on with retinol, or finds it too strong. It is built on bakuchiol held in nano-liposomes — a plant-derived active the manufacturer offers as an alternative to retinol for skin renewal, firmness and radiance. The liposome shell releases the active gradually, which is what makes the formula feel gentler. The herbal side is rounded out with ginseng and Salvia miltiorrhiza root extracts. The other half of the ingredient list is lipid: ceramides AP, EOP and NP, cholesterol and phytosphingosine — the same classes of lipid the skin barrier is built from, so they help keep it intact, while sodium hyaluronate and glycerin hold on to water. That combination covers two jobs at once: age-focused care, and comfort for sensitive, dryness-prone skin. Use in the evening on cleansed skin, before your moisturiser. Follow with your usual SPF in the morning.
